Embarking on the creation of a short film for the Rode Short Film Festival proved to be an exhilarating experience, despite the extremely cold conditions. The collaborative effort involved a talented crew of 10 individuals, each contributing to various aspects of the production, whether on-screen or behind the camera.
The project brought together an array of creative minds, including Benny Knop from Noisy Post, Rowan Sgarlata from Xiphias Audio, Amy Novittski from Riot Dolls, and many others. The collaborative synergy of these talented individuals contributed to the overall success of the short film.
From script to film, the process was both challenging and rewarding. Working within the constraints of a 3-minute timeframe required meticulous editing, with the realization that a more extended version could have easily spanned 40 minutes. The difficulty lay in deciding which footage to omit, even after the final cut was established.
The utilization of the Black Magic Production Cinema Camera, shooting in Raw, played a pivotal role. This technology allowed for the manipulation and enhancement of shots, even in scenarios where lighting was not as abundant as desired.
Ultimately, the entire team takes pride in the creation of this short film, a testament to the collaborative effort and dedication poured into bringing this project to life.
